LYNDACHS FINE MINIATURE DACHSHUNDS
About Us
When I was about 5 years old, in the afternoons I
would sit under the big elm trees beside the road
and wait for a short-legged "weenie" dog to walk
by.  I thought this was the most beautiful dog in
the world.  So began my love affair with the
dachshund.

Since that time many dachshunds have come
and gone.  While I breed for temperament and
confirmation, I also want dachshunds that do
what dachshunds were bred to do.  No, we don't
go out and hunt badgers, but the kids love to
chase those sage rats.  There isn't a groomed or
landscaped backyard at our house.

I do not place my puppies on a “first come first
serve basis”.  I try to make sure each puppy
goes to the best home.  I do my very best not to
sell to puppy mills or pet shops.  I also reserve
the right to refuse sale of my puppies to anyone
for any reason, even if it is just a gut feeling. All
puppies are sold on a pet contract requiring the
new owners to have them spayed or neutered.  I
will consider selling to breeders that have a
limited number of dogs.  I have 8 dogs right now
and feel that at times I don't get to spend enough
quality time with each individual dog.  I am self-
employed and can bring them to work with me.
However, I feel that there is just not enough time
or energy to love them all properly.

The dogs live in the house with my husband and
myself.  At times they allow Mike and I to sit in
the chairs. That is if we are willing to provide the
'laps for naps'.  We no longer let them all sleep
with us, as they hog the whole bed.  I do let my
pregnant girls sleep with me starting about two
weeks before the puppies are born.  Which
means that the puppies are usually born on my
bed.  I just throw a vinyl tablecloth on the bed
and away we go.

The puppies and mom stay in the bedroom until
mom is ready to join the family.  Then they are
moved to the kitchen.  There they stay until the
puppies are placed in new homes.  The puppies
are always under foot and Mike and I do the
'puppy shuffle'.  The puppies learn to use the
doggy door and love to be outside digging and
hiding in the holes the other dogs have created.
I try to make sure the puppies are well socialized
and give them plenty of love and affection.  Our
grandchildren and nieces are always ready to
hold and play with the puppies.  I try to take the
puppies for car rides so they will more easily
adapt to traveling.

While I do ship, I prefer not to.  I only ship
weather permitting.
I prefer the puppies go to their new homes when
they are 8 to 9 weeks old.  I try and keep the
puppies with their mothers till 8 weeks, as I feel
the mothers teach them certain social graces up
until that time.  I will not ship until the puppies
are 12 weeks of age.  I start vaccinations and
worming at 6 weeks and continue every 3 weeks
until the puppies have homes, or until the series
is complete.

I do require an application to be submitted.  I
also require that references be made available at
my discretion.  All personal information is used
for my purposes only and will not be given out
to anyone else, for any reason.  This includes
names, addresses, telephone numbers and
driver license numbers.

you have any questions please feel free to call or
email me.  I love to talk about my babies
